BURRITOS: Portable Food for Potable Water

Do you like Burritos? What about fajitas or tacos? Or how about an array of hot sauces that range from Smack My Sweet Ass and Call Me Sally Sweet to You Can't Handle This Hot Sauce? If so then our next fundraiser is perfect for you.

Tijuana Flats is sponsoring a Spirit Night in support of the Ghana Project.

When: Thursday March 10th
Time: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Where: Tiajuana Flats at Hodges and Beach
13529 Beach Blvd
Jacksonville, FL 32224

How it works: Tell the Cashier that you are there to support the Ghana Project and 10% of your receipt gets donated to the project. (This does NOT include alcohol sales). Then hang out and enjoy your burrito. Or get it to go. The choice is yours.

About the Tamale Children's Home

The Tamale Children’s Home is a government-operated orphanage for children in the northern region of Ghana. Daily life revolves around the ability to work and take care of quotidian tasks necessary for survival. If a child loses even one parent, the remaining parent usually does not have enough resources to take care of the child on their own. When this happens, the child can be taken to the Home until they are old enough to help out and provide for the family. Of course, if both parents are lost, the child may stay at the Home until they are able to work and live independently. Even though the Home may provide the children with the basics like food, shelter, and water, there is still a constant threat to the children’s survival. Currently, the Tamale Children’s Home supports about 30 children, ranging in age from infants to teenagers. In addition to the children, the Home supports up to 50 people considering the staff and local children who attend the school located on the property.
